The best Carbonara ever- Maccheroni

Not far from Pantheon but far from being touristic, there is Trattoria Maccheroni. Not big signs, no need for advertisement, you may pass it without noticing! Still, it is a meeting place for Romans mostly actors or generally artists. Inside, you can see your dish being prepared and learn some of the secrets of the Italian cuisine!

Pick a table in front of the cuisine, where divided by glass you can watch the cooks prepare your dish. We never miss their Carbonara, absolutely traditional, fresh and of course delicious. Other dishes we propose are:
  • Griccia - a carbonara without egg
  • Caccio e Peppe, the simplest pasta ever - just cheese and pepper
  • Lombata di maiale - a juicy pork stake
  • xxx
For being so close to Pantheon, the prices are decent, the personnel friendly and the cooks very fast!
We suggest the local red wine, there is not so big selection of bottled wines but they are carefully selected and in decent price.
